Return to Truth – New Work 2010

These are the newest larger scale works.

I am also steadily creating 100 new small pieces…visit my “Journal” to view the latest little ones…

Artist Statement

How we position ourselves in relation to the Self, others, and the world shifts hourly, daily, and season by season. Sometimes we reach a state of real stability, other times we are nearly crumbling. It is a balancing act. There is a space and location however, that is constant and stable if only we would sit still long enough. The space is somewhere near the heart. Here intuition and inspiration sound as bells, signaling for our remembering and return to truth. Then we know which seeds we will sow, we commune with Calling, and inhale.

The use of simple shapes reminds me of the simple things in life and the things we do in repetition and rhythm that help maintain a stabilized existence. These repetitive acts ultimately create our personal rituals. I work with color as it relates to emotion and do my best to respect the quality of each hue.

The materials I use to create the collages are vinyl wallpaper, painted papers, foils, and acrylic paint. I cut each shape by hand and arrange them until they make sense.

  1. Thanks for stopping by my blog and taking the time to leave a comment. I love your work here–especially the use of the circular motif and the colors. I’ve always admired art and music that seem simple but say so much–rather like Mozart’s music. It’s the sign of someone who has been working for a long time and figured out how to say what they need to say without garbage hanging off the ends of things!
    Brava!
